Any First
day cover will have three components that make them special first day
cover: the envelope, stamp and postmark. The main or the key element
in any first day cover is the ?postmark with the date? affixed on the
stamp, which indicates that, the cover or the stamp has been cancelled.
Generally, the United States Postal Service releases a stamp in one
city on the day before a new issue is sold and even issue of a new stamp
is being celebrated in a grand manner.
